MANHR, founded in September 2000, is the sole statewide consumer group advocating for improvements in the quality of care for MA nursing home residents. We are a committed group of families and advocates who are proud of the organization’s achievements in its young life – established and supports a statewide network of family-run councils in MA nursing homes, provides resources to MA citizens seeking advice to help their loved ones in nursing homes, represents MA long term care residents and their families on various state level coalitions and committees, and authored family council state legislation enacted in 2004 (MA is only the third state in the country to champion this legislation).
