The Center for International Peace and Reconciliation (CIPR) is a think-tank based in Baltimore, Maryland dedicated to fostering peace and reconciliation in divided societies across the globe. Founded in May of 2016, the CIPR has four main functions:
· To produce research projects on peace and reconciliation that can be used to inform the general public, scholars, journalist, and policy makers;
· Advocate for public policies and legislation that address the root causes of conflict and at the same time encourage peace, respect human rights, justice, and equality;
· Champion programs that bring members of divided communities together to face the past, acknowledge the present, and plan for the future;
· Professionally train and equip students, scholars, journalist, and policy makers with the knowledge and advocacy tools they need to address and challenge many of the underlying issues that continue to hamper peace and reconciliation in both domestic and international contexts.
