Helping Hand Rescue Mission Group

Acerca de

As a witness to the love of God through Jesus Christ, the Helping Hand Rescue Mission seeks to improve the spiritual and temporal conditions of the people and communities we serve by providing excellent service to all who come, whether they be rich or poor, high or low social status. The Mission's main priority is to reach children suffering under impoverished conditions, providing disadvantaged children with educational and character building instruction, school supplies, and love. The Mission supplies food, clothing, and furniture to needy families, as well as personal visitation to the elderly and delivery of goods to those who are unable to come to the Mission. History: Founded in 1965 by Reverend Jimmie Gaines, his wife, Reverend Rose Marie Gaines, and her mother, Florence E. Merringola, in Huntington Station. After witnessing local poverty conditions first hand, they invested everything that they had with the view that if they could help even one person it was worth the investment. November 15, 2004 marks their 39th anniversary serving our community & benefiting thousands of people. Reverend Rose Marie Gaines and Reverend Jimmie Gaines are the Executive Directors of the Helping Hand Rescue Mission, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation as determined by the IRS.
