Carrizo Comecrudo Tribe of Texas

The Carrizo/Comecrudo Nation of Texas (Tribe) seeks to maintain constant connection to and preservation of our ancestors and relatives. Our objectives are to expand on the research of the Tribe and our contributions, establish a positive attitude of our identity and lifeways, to promote tribal healing, revitalize and conserve sacred sites by assisting the restoration of lifeways, promote education in order to maintain organizational functions of the Carrizo/Comecrudo, address the health needs of the Carrizo/Comecrudo nation by educating and finding resources for people with diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, substance abuse, mental health, cancer, infectious diseases and others, prevent, intervene in and counsel domestic violence, acquire federal recognition, secure a land base and assist members to secure adequate housing, procure a sustainable balance with the environment and preserve resources for the future generations to understand the teachings of the Native People of the Land.
