Salt House's Mission is to be a church that lives by faith, is known by love, and joins God’s movement of healing, justice and hope for the world.
Salt House Church began in March 2015, after Trinity Lutheran Church intentionally closed their doors, allowing new life to emerge. The vision was to create a place for progressive Jesus-followers who were looking for community, initially targeting young adults who had fallen away from or not found a home in other churches. Salt House’s vision quickly expanded to include everybody.
Salt House has steadily grown and thrived, developing a culture that values authenticity, creativity, presence, process, playfulness, and growth, where everyone is welcome no matter what.
Salt House holds Jesus at the center of our worship and shared life together, without requiring conformity. Whether doubting, curious, uncertain, recovering, faithfully following, or seeking, there is room to relate to Jesus and explore the life of God.
Salt House is part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, engaging folks locally in-person at the center of the Eastside of Seattle, and those around the globe through our online worship streaming, groups, and podcast.
