The Kaua`i Community Alliance is a collaborative working together to end homelessness and create sustainable housing options on Kaua`i and in the State of Hawai`i. KCA is a member of the "Balance of State" continuum of care, Bridging the Gap.
Kaua‘i Community Alliance (KCA) is a membership organization of professionals, consumers, service providers, stakeholders, and other community representatives focused on affordable housing and eliminating homelessness.
KCA is a coordinating body that develops recommendations for programs and services to fill gaps in the Continuum of Care (CoC).
KCA assists in implementing new or expanded programs and advocates to preserve effective existing programs serving the community.
As a member of the statewide CoC, KCA works collaboratively with other CountyCoC’s to address issues relating to affordable housing and homelessness.
KCA voting members provide direction relating to HUD’s CoC annual competition for homeless assistance funds.
Kauai Community Alliance, also known as the Kauai Continuum of Care, is recognized by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as the primary group in Kauai County serving the homeless. KCA's goal is to eliminate homelessness. Our members include key non-profit agencies (Catholic Charities Hawaii, ALU LIKE, Inc., Kauai Economic Opportunity, YWCA, Women in Need, Malama Pono, the Housing Department of Kauai County, and others) serving the homeless and advocating for affordable housing. KCA members also include individuals who are or were homeless, businesses, faith-based groups, and others.
