The Humane Society of York County (HSYC) is a local non-profit organization dedicated to the humane treatment of animals. We are located in Fort Mill, South Carolina and serve the greater Charlotte region including York, Lancaster and Mecklenburg counties.
We successfully placed 635 animals in loving homes last year preventing them from being euthanized. In an effort to stop future overpopulation, we require that all adopted animals be spayed or neutered before leaving this shelter.
MissionOur mission is to prevent animal suffering; to help reduce overpopulation by promoting spaying and neutering, to educate the public about animal welfare and to place adoptable animals in loving homes. We advocate for animal welfare legislation and support the prosecution of animal abusers.
