New Day for Children is an organization aiding girls in that transition out of victimization. New Day for Children is a boarding school located in a beautiful, remote location in Northern California that serves girls ages 10-18. Girls are referred to New Day by local and federal law enforcement agencies. New Day provides the girls with an accredited curriculum tailored to their individual academic level and life goals. In addition to schooling, the girls have the opportunity to bond with each other, work with licensed therapists, and even engage in a highly regarded horse therapy program that demonstrably impacts the girls’ mental and physical well-being. New Day for Children currently serves 15 girls and recently had one resident graduate from high school and begin college. For more infor on New Day please see:

Human trafficking is a crime within our borders, targeting some of the most vulnerable members of our society. In fact, the US Department of Justice estimates that 300,000 children are at risk for commercial sexual exploitation every year. Caught in a cycle of coercion and exploitation, American girls (some as young as 10 years old) are modern-day slaves – commodities in the fastest growing crime industry in the United States. It is imperative that we treat these girls as victims, rather than label them as criminals. As victims, they are in need of specialized treatment to help them move past victim mode and begin to view themselves as persons of dignity with something unique and valuable to contribute to society. Girls on Track has gained the fervent support of Congresswoman Jackie Speier, Police Chief Greg Suhr, the San Francisco Police Officers’ Association, the Women’s Police Officer’s Association, The Run Project, California Against Slavery, and Not For Sale.
