Bhojpur Mahila Kala Kendra has been actively involved in promotion of marginalized and deprived section of the society since 2000. The year 2007-2008 was another successful year in BMKK’S efforts to improve the status of rural women and adolescent girls- the most vulnerable section of the society.

We concentrated on identifying avenues for their socio–economic empowerment through promotion of self-help groups, skill training, providing financial inputs and establishing marketing linkages. We also emphasized to improve health status of the marginalized section of the society through various meaningful health programmes. The impacts of these programmes were very positive and as a result, socio-economic status of number of poor women has been improved in the society.

In the process, BMKK is also associated with other like-minded VOs and other social groups to promote and strengthen voluntary action in Bihar and Jharkhand.

We are very much grateful to our donor agencies for their financial support and valuable guidance, which has helped us in extending our support to the poor and marginalized section of the society.
