Acerca de

The Master Chorale of Washington is and organization that features a 120 member volunteer chorus with a professional core in Washington DC. MCW performs a subscription series of concerts at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and often performs with the National Symphony Orchestra in addition to smaller performances at the National Presbyterian Church and international embassies.

MCW also sponsors two outstanding and inspiring outreach programs for the DC community: The Partners in Peace All City Honors Chorus and the Bridging Differences Fund.

The Partners in Peace All City Honors Chorus auditions and selects 120 outstanding young musicians in grades 6-9 from the DC public schools for a ten week honors chorus experience that not only incorporates musicianship but also ethnomusicology as the music itself is explored. The program culminates with a performance at the Kennedy Center.

The Bridging Differences Fund commisions works for the Chorale that speak to our multicultural community, its history, challeneges, and future and seeks to explore bridge differences through the power of music. Previous performed works have included Don McCullough's "Holocaust Cantata" and "Let My People Go" which explores the history of the Underground Railroad.
