The Arthritis Society Hope through Education, Support and Solutions
The Arthritis Society is Canada’s only not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing and promoting arthritis education, community support and research-based solutions, to the nearly 4.5 million Canadians living with arthritis. Since its inception in 1948, The Society has contributed more than $150 million towards arthritis research to develop better treatments for arthritis and ultimately, to find a cure. The Society is also committed to providing diversified programs to help those living with this disabling disease. In Alberta/Northwest Territories, there is an estimated 500,000 people currently living with arthritis, making it the most common chronic condition in the region.
Our Mission In the Alberta/Northwest Territories division, our mission is to improve the quality of life for people affected by arthritis, and to support proactive efforts directed toward prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and a cure for arthritis.
The Society is well represented by volunteers across this division. We also have full and part-time staff members working in our division office located in Calgary and our northern region office in Edmonton.
