Scatterlings is a new player on the South African field of early learning, providing Early Learning for Africa’s Infants and Toddlers is a non governmental organization that aims to address one of South Africa’s most urgent needs – early childhood development.

Further, Scatterlings intends, to work in the community and assist women to establish Scatterlings Day Care Centres throughout South Africa and Africa by means of a combination sponsorships and low-key business opportunities. It will also provide existing centres with the Scatterlings Programme and the necessary training to run effective Day Care Centres.

Mission

Scatterlings intends establishing itself as the first South African organization to provide a unique combination of care and education for babies and toddlers.

Its holistic approach will encompass the development of the whole child – intellectual, emotional, physical and social, among children aged 6 months to six years. In addition, the Scatterlings programme will incorporate the crucial components of nutrition, health and hygiene, thus providing the best possible conditions for very young children to grow and flourish. Scatterlings aims to supply minimal basic resources to parents and caregivers, together with explanatory materials, to enable them to continue the learned play activities with their children in their own time. This programme also strives to work in the community and assist unemployed women to establish Scatterlings day-care centres throughout South Africa by means of a combination of sponsorships and low key business opportunities. Through the Scatterlings programme, sustainability of these businesses will be ensured.
