In a nutshell, our mission is the transnational collaboration of musicians, be they professionals or beginners.

You may be familiar with the concept of the wikipedia - many brains pooling knowledge for free use.

What we do on wikiloops is a bit familiar, but instead of sharing and improving written articles, we share and improve musical pieces.

Besides the huge amount of music (some ideal for practise, some great to listen) that is available to anyone for free via wikiloops, the second and equally valuable aspect of this project is the engagement of musicians from all kinds of cultural origins in the collaborations taking place on wikiloops.

We are happy about our growing community, counting over 12.000 musicians from all around the globe after three years, and we came to Idealist looking for people who might be willing to help us reach out, by joining the wikiloops translators team.
