Bi-Habawalk Inc.´s mission is to facilitate the well-being of disadvantaged young people. We seek to discourage negative behaviors such as substance abuse, teen pregnancy and dropping out of school. BHI actively promotes academic excellence, the development of interpersonal and community skills, and individual recognition of personal responsibility. In these ways BHI helps the youth form positive self identities.
Bi-Habawalk Inc. serves youth of low-income communities. Our programs serve at-risk individuals between the ages of 8 and 25. Programs are conducted in schools, libraries, community centers, churches, and other places where young people of diverse cultural backgrounds hang out.
Bi-Habawalk, Inc.(BHWalk) provides youth with vital life skills. We do this through rather interestingly unique artist and cultural activities, academic and other mentoring programs. These programs promote positive social behavior. BHWalk kids gain skills they need to avoid the extremes of aggression or introversion. They learn to identify and reject self-destructive activities. They learn skills necessary for self-empowerment and teamwork.
BHWalk’s life skills programs inspire participants to develop social skills, build self confidence, develop anger and conflict management skills, develop self assessment, and set sight on positive career goals.
The academic program teaches participants how to become successful life-long students, train for post-secondary opportunities, improve reading and math skills and apply those skills to community needs, and others.
The other programs offer participants opportunities to enjoy several coaching relationships and participate in creative recreational activities
