SCAWINC is an organization that is focused on educating and bringing awareness of Gynecological Health/Cancers, Cervical Cancer, and the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), while motivating and empowering women through the cathartic experience of the Arts.

Our mission is to affect the lives of young girls and women from the age of 15 and up. Due to The *American Cancer Society's most recent estimates for cancer of the cervix in the United States are for 2012:

• About 12,170 new cases of invasive cervical cancer (cancer that has spread beyond the cervix)

• About 12,170 new cases of invasive cervical cancer (cancer that has spread beyond

the cervix)

• About 4,220 deaths from cervical cancer

We seek to inform women that early detection and education is vital to help women avoid contracting this preventable and highly curable disease.

We strive to work with cervical cancer survivors also known by us as: H.E.R.O.S! As our primary platform for helping these women, H.E.R.O.S. represents our organization's goal of providing the following elements for our H.E.R.O.S. Survivors - Helping to Heal, Elevating and Empowering, Regaining (Self-)Respect, Overcoming Obstacles, with the Strength to Survive.
