The Legacy Table Foundation

The Legacy Table Foundation helps families in underserved communities, here in the United States and around the world, build and protect generational wealth together. We bring grandparents, parents, and grandchildren to the same table to learn entrepreneurship, business credit, land ownership, and family trust planning, so that what one generation builds is protected and passed down to the next.

The Legacy Table Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in St. Petersburg, Florida. Our work is rooted in what we call the “Big Table” philosophy, passed down from my grandparents, James and Carrie Bell Johnson and John Henry and Maybell Lasket Wesley. They believed everyone gets a seat, and that what you build is meant to be passed on.

The Foundation grew out of my more years as a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator. I watched family after family lose their land and property to pay for care, and in all those years I only saw one family with a trust protecting what they owned. That stayed with me, and it is why we exist.

Our signature program is a 10-week intergenerational wealth-building course. Grandparents, parents, and kids work side by side, and every family leaves with:

• A properly structured business entity
• Business credit built on the business’s own EIN, kept separate from their personal credit
• Family trust documentation
• A path to land and agricultural income, either by putting land they already own to work, getting coaching to buy land through USDA programs, or starting with a grow tower system

Each week, families also record their stories, including grandparent wisdom, financial journeys, and business decisions. The kids document and archive their family’s wealth story, and the program ends with a community showcase where each family presents the legacy they inherited and the one they are building.

We serve families across generations, with a focus on elders, grandchildren, and families who have historically been shut out of land ownership and wealth-building. Programs are free for families. After St. Petersburg, we are taking the program to Yaoundé, Cameroon.
