St. Benilde School

St. Benilde School is a parochial elementary school and early childhood center located in Metairie, LA. We are located in the middle of a neighborhood convenient to major thoroughfares yet secluded from the hustle and bustle of city life. The Loreto Early Learning Center serves children from as young as six weeks through three years of age. The elementary school has three divisions: Early Childhood (Prek 4 - Grade 1), Primary (Grades 2-4), and Middle (Grades 5-7). We thrive on providing a personalized education driven by data of actual student achievement. We utilize the Common Core State Standards framework, and promote students using the continuous improvement model. In continuous improvement, students are taught based upon their readiness level in math, reading, and English - language arts. This means that if a child is shown to be on a third grade level, she or he will learn with children who are on a third grade level, regardless of the grade level. In this way, we can assure that every child achieves at their fullest potential. Beyond the academic programs, we focus on providing a "whole-family education," including an active counseling program, family support services, needs-based assistance programs, constant spiritual formation and sharing of sacraments, parent education, and more.
