Youth First Community of Promise

Our vision is to build our youth for the future where they are more likely to succeed academically, socially, and civically, regardless of ethnic or economic boundaries. We provide them with an empowering environment where they can fully embrace their identity and gain the skills they need to be leaders. Our programs teach the fundamentals of social responsibility, healthy living and cultural acceptance. During the school year, we meet youth where they are - in their schools. From shadowing classes to homework help, school supplies, and teaching organizational skills - youth are supported by staff who are there to ensure success in school. We also provide out-of-school time (OST) programs. During the school year, we provide school release day activities. A safe place for them to be with caring adults. Through positive program options, youth are able to explore new opportunities under the guidance of our staff either at our Youth Center in Ramsey, or on field trips to fun and educational places throughout the Twin Cities. Our summer program at our youth center provides a welcoming and safe place for kids to spend time with friends (new and old), play games, learn new activities, develop social emotional skills, practice leadership and team building skills, share in activities to help others, and participate in weekly field trips.
