Flickers: Rhode Island International Film Festival

Now in its 19th year, FLICKERS: Rhode Island International Film Festival™ (RIIFF) will take place August 4-9, 2015. The Festival has become a leading juried competition showcase for international independent filmmakers and their work. In 2015, the Festival will feature an expanded focus with a curated musical competition, expanded walks and tours, a style week component, food, history and much much more.This celebration of independent cinema and film arts is New England's largest film festival and only Academy Award-qualifying event for both Narrative and Documentary Short Films. Out of more than 7,000 film festivals worldwide, only 19 of them share this distinction.

There are many ways to help. RIIFF is looking for volunteers to help with administrative tasks, advertising, ushering, selling tickets and merchandise, among other things. To thank you for your time and dedication, each volunteer will be given a Festival ticket 6-pack, which can be used at any screening during the week of the Festival, and is invited to a Staff & Volunteer Thank-You Reception on August 9th.RIIFF requests that you sign up for a minimum of 3 shifts of 3 to 4 hours during the festival and that you attend an orientation session where you will be given a volunteer booklet, event and job descriptions, and sign-up sheets with dates and times for all events (mid- to late July).
