We provide nutritious and appealing meals, including special diets through regular personal contact to those in need to enable their healthy independence.
Acerca de
Meals on Wheels was established in 1970. We are a Exemplary Magnet Accreditated meals program, meaning we have met stringent rules and regulations for a home delivered meals program and are evaluated regularly in order to maintain this accreditation. Only a handfull of programs out of over 3000 that have met the criteria for Exemplary Accreditation.
We provide 9 different diets and any combination of them to homebound elderly or disabled citizens of Chemung County. All meals are cooked from our central kitchen on Fox St. in Elmira and use as little processed items as possible. Vegetables served are either frozen or fresh when possible. Mosts desserts are baked from scratch. There are 19 routes throughout the county.
