New Directions Housing Corporation started Repair Affair in 1993. Since then, our mission has been to mobilize community-wide resources and volunteers to support the housing repair needs of elderly and disabled homeowners of low income.

Repair Affair is completely volunteer-driven. Volunteer teams from local businesses, service and social organizations, congregations and individuals work to complete home repairs including wheelchair ramps, handrails, grab-bars, flooring, steps, locks, door & window repairs, minor mechanical repairs, exterior & interior painting, yard-work, and clean-up, etc.

Repair Affair is not re-decorating, emergency repairs, home remodeling or total rehab

We stress safety, security, accessibility, maintenance, and weatherization.

Repair Affair Applications are accepted January through March of each year. While most homes are aided on our event day in June, many homes are assisted throughout the summer when volunteer teams and resources are available. We maximize every community gift to help older and disabled homeowners, and we help as many as we can.
