Acerca de

Angel Island Immigration Station Foundation (AIISF) tells the story of Pacific Coast immigration to America. Over one million immigrants from more than 80 countries passed through its doors between 1910 and 1940. A partner of Angel Island State Park, AIISF has raised and leveraged more than $40 million to restore the immigration station, now a National Historic Landmark. In June 2016, AIISF played a major role in securing $3 million in funding from the State of California to complete renovations of the station’s historic hospital and create the Pacific Coast Immigration Center at Angel Island State Park, which will connect the site to more contemporary Pacific immigration stories and dialogue. The center is expected to open in 2018. With the restoration work complete, AIISF is turning its attention to focus on ensuring the lessons and legacy of Angel Island are an integral part of K-12 education and public conversations nationwide.
