    Acerca de

The Earth Conservation Corps is a nonprofit youth development and environmental service organization located where the heavily polluted Anacostia River flows through our nation's capital's most disadvantaged communities. Since 1992 we have been successfully reclaiming two of America's most endangered resources -- our youth and our environment.

We use the challenge and promise of restoring the Anacostia River to engage unemployed community youth in workforce training, environmental education, and media arts to help them learn the skills they need to become candidates for the emerging workforce and environmental stewards through advocacy, action and community service.

A small but highly trained staff provides Corps members with the leadership skills and environmental expertise to empower them to engage thousands of local and national volunteers of all ages in the restoration of the Anacostia River.
