AmeriCorps Seniors Worcester - Seven Hills

AmeriCorps Seniors is sponsored by Family Services of Central Ma, an affiliate of Seven Hills Foundation. AmeriCorps Seniors has a variety of volunteer opportunities for those who are 55 years of age or older. We have volunteer opportunities within the AVID program located in several Worcester Public Schools, meals on wheels programs, we have several different elder justice initiatives which are very popular. If you have theater skills we have a traveling theater group whom we refer to as the Fraud Squad Players, there is fraud/scam Helpline where we have volunteers answering calls from seniors who have been or could potentially become a victim of a fraud or scam. There are many different volunteer opportunities located within non-profits throughout the city of Worcester. There is also a home visiting program where volunteers are provided a tax-free stipend (income eligible) along with mileage and meal reimbursements. The volunteers visit within the homes of other seniors who may be isolated, fragile or just need a friend to visit weekly. We also have volunteers who can provide respite services for family caregivers. The family caregivers can then attend appointments, maybe do some work or just have alone time.
