LOOP NOLA

LOOP NOLA makes outdoor adventures more equitable for underserved children and youth. Its mission is to give all children and youth in our region an opportunity to experience the physical and mental health benefits of outdoor recreation and the joy and awe created in natural spaces. Since our initial founding in 1997 as a city program, then as a state program, and now with six years as an independent nonprofit organization, LOOP NOLA has provided 30,000 students with outdoor adventures that develop their social, emotional, and academic skills.

LOOP was founded to make the outdoors a place where disadvantaged students can learn and develop relevant life skills. Outdoor experiences, including hiking, canoeing, ropes course challenges, camping, fishing, teambuilding activities, and nature-based programming form the foundation of our programs. All programs are organized, supervised, and directed by LOOP NOLA staff and volunteers.
