Wokai is the first person-to-person microfinance nonprofit that connects contributors from around the world with recipients in China. At Wokai, we aim to create a scalable, high-impact model to distribute financial opportunities to the 360 million people in China living on less than $2/day. Since our launch in November ‘08, we have raised over US$500,000 in loan capital, helped over 900 entrepreneurs and attracted over 3,200 contributions. We have been featured in Time, MSNBC, CNBC, CCTV, Phoenix TV, Newsweek, Bloomberg, and CNN.
