Seed Change Tanzania

Seed Change is a sustainable agriculture nonprofit operating in the Kigoma region of Tanzania. We work to lift smallholder farmers out of poverty by providing them with higher quality farming inputs, materials, and education to improve soil health and crop yields while promoting biodiversity. By helping our farmers to produce higher yields on less land we are able to reduce the stress placed on surrounding forests. Farmers that work with Seed Change are able to increase their income from $275 per year to $3,425 per year.

Seed Change has recently switched from solely providing high-yielding tenera trees to an entire agroforestry bundle for our farmers. As part of this we are providing our farmers a variety of seeds and seedlings and also acting as the off-taker to connect smallholders with new markets se they can get a fair price for their hard work. We work with our farmers every step of the way to make sure they are using sustainable agricultural practices to protect the soil, the environment, and their livelihoods.
