At our very core, the International Community Empowerment (ICEF) strives to create a Global Partnership for Development. Our mandate is to ensure the sustainability of our partner, the Tekera Resource Centre in a community based development model. The Tekera Resource Centre is located in the tiny village of Tekera in the Masaka district of Uganda. The Tekera Resource has a unique model of development that has been effective in empowering the locals of Tekera village with vital community services.

With the goal of longevity at top of mind, ICEF’s mandate is to provide Tekera with the support required to provide health care, education, drinking water and economics opportunities. Too many development projects run their 3-5 year mandate and then move along. Our goal is to push far beyond cyclical development and establish a truly long partnership. Tekera Resource Centre opened their doors in 2006, and we plan to help them continue their amazing work.

As of January 13, 2011 ICEF is a registered Society (S-57702) under the British Columbia Society’s Act.
