To foster community development by promoting a cooperative business model that encourages collaboration, volunteerism, and sustainable growth. It focuses on creating an inclusive platform that connects like-minded individuals, entrepreneurs, and local businesses, driving mutual support and community empowerment.
The idea for Nature Station was born between 2015-2019 during my active hiking adventures with various meetups and mountaineer.org. Immersing myself in the beauty of the Northwest, I found joy in embracing the culture, achieving work-life balance, and exploring nature in all seasons.
However, we noticed a gap— our family and friends, less exposed to the outdoors, longed to join these journeys. Meanwhile, we craved deeper, more meaningful trips: learning about and giving back to nature. This need for connection, exploration, and personal growth convinced me of the power of a supportive community.
In 2020, Nature Station began as a social outdoor-based group with a podcast to share the natural beauty of our region amid the pandemic. Since then, we’ve achieved remarkable milestones:
Our vision is simple: To create a thriving, community-driven cooperative that fosters deep connections with nature, empowers collaboration, and generates economic opportunities. We envision a future of sustainable growth, where wellness, social well-being, and environmental stewardship thrive for the benefit of current and future generations.
In 2023, Nature Station evolved into a Non-Profit Cooperative Social and Recreational Club—a station run by the people, for the people, toward nature!
