Florence Crittenton Services Florence Crittenton Services is a Denver nonprofit with a mission to educate, prepare, and empower teen mothers and their children to become productive members of the community. This year we proudly celebrate our 125th anniversary serving some of the community’s most vulnerable families. Every year we make it possible for more teen mothers to succeed as parents, scholars and professionals, while ensuring that their children become kindergarten-ready. Florence Crittenton Services pioneered a nationally recognized two-generation program model that helps teen families break the cycle of poverty through education, health and wellness, and economic and social asset building. In 2015, Florence Crittenton Services opened its new and expanded campus, funded through the Building for Teen Family Success Capital Campaign. Campus services are designed to address the needs of the whole child through an asset-based, trauma-responsive lens. Our Student and Family Support Program (SFSP) is a team of Family Advocates that provide customized case-management and wraparound services to teen mothers. Our campus is a family resource center that includes an Early Childhood Education Center, the Alethia E. Morgan, MD Health Center, and, through our 34-year partnership with Denver Public Schools, the on-site Florence Crittenton High School. We are part of the Ascend Network, a prestigious group of two-generation leaders and organizations working to influence practice and policy change, and we were instrumental in establishing the Colorado Teen Parent Collaborative, a statewide community of organizations advocating for program and policy that benefits teen families. We are building a replicable model for nation-wide service to teen families, to include an evidence base demonstrating the economic returns from investing in their future.
