We live in a time of growing racial and economic disparities that leave too many people on the margins of society. Civic Participation Action Fund (CPAF) supports advocacy to reduce these disparities, to improve the lives of low income communities and communities of color, and to increase participation in the democratic process.

CPAF is dedicated to improving opportunities and removing barriers confronting people of color, low income older people and children/youth, immigrants, and others on the margins of society. We focus on creating a more progressive policy and political environment by engaging low income and people of color in the electoral and advocacy processes.

CPAF was created in 2015 by a grant from the Atlantic Advocacy Fund, the 501(c)4 arm of TheAtlantic Philanthropies. A five-year initiative, CPAF providesresources to selected issue campaigns and strategies that demonstrate a high probability for policy success that also involve and strengthen civic participation. CPAF also strives to improve the future of funding climate in support of high impact advocacy efforts addressing racial and economic disparity.
