Misión
The Mission of the Academy at Glengary and Academy at Bradenton is to create a working community where adults can improve mental health through friendship, healthy lifestyles, skill development, and careers.
Acerca de
The Academy at Glengary/Academy at Bradenton offer a working community approach and are accredited programs of Clubhouse International. Participants are correctly referred to as members, and are valued for their talents, skills and abilities. The Academy offers a range of self-directed opportunities based on the 8 Dimensions of Wellness (intellectual, physical, financial, social, emotional, vocational, environmental, and spiritual). The Academy's “work-ordered day” operates Monday-Friday, 8am – 5pm, and is open select evenings, weekends and holidays for socialization.
The Academy offers:
- Community Reintegration: The Academy is a restorative community where members enjoy a sense of belonging and an opportunity to build friendships.
- Vocational Training: Members engage in a hands-on rehabilitation process during the work-ordered day in a wide range of vocational areas.
- Transitional Employment: Once ready and willing to embark on paid employment, members have the opportunity for 6-9 months of employment experiences with local businesses.
- Supported Employment/Career Placements: Following Transitional Employment, members can pursue permanent job placements in Supported or Independent Employment.
- Evening, Weekend and Holiday events: Members have the opportunity to socialize and share experiences outside of the work-ordered day.
