Acerca de

The mission of the International Rescue Committee (IRC) is to help people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover, and gain control of their future.

Founded in 1933 at the request of Albert Einstein, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) is a leading nonsectarian, voluntary organization leading the way from harm to home for refugees and victims of oppression or violent conflict. Committed to freedom, human dignity, and self-reliance, the IRC serves refugees and communities victimized by oppression or violent conflict worldwide. This commitment is expressed in emergency relief, protection of human rights, post-conflict development, resettlement services, and advocacy in over 40 different countries and 22 U.S. cities.

The IRC in Phoenix opened in 1994 to provide core resettlement services such as access to medical care, food, shelter clothing, and job placement to newly arrived refugees. In addition, the IRC in Phoenix has implemented service programs focused on refugees' long term success and integration into the Phoenix community. These programs assist refugees in their journey from surviving to thriving by empowering them with the tools, skills, and opportunities needed to become self-sufficient.
