Sewa International Houston

Based on the principle, "Service above self," Sewa International is a Hindu faith-based, humanitarian, nonprofit service organization registered under Internal Revenue Code 501 (c) (3). Founded in 2003, Sewa International is part of a larger movement that started in India in 1989 and has currently spread to 20 countries. Sewa serves humanity irrespective of race, color, religion, gender or nationality.

For over ten years, the Houston chapter has worked to empower the refugee and immigrant populations in the area by providing them with vital resources that can help them build a better life. Our staff is mainly composed of volunteers committed to helping their local communities through programs focused on refugee empowerment, public health outreach and improving the education of immigrant and refugee schoolchildren.
