Windhorse Associates is an innovative therapeutic community for individuals in psychiatric recovery. Windhorse grew out of the psychology department of Naropa, a Buddhist university in Boulder, Colorado, based on the principle that what people in psychiatric recovery need is an uplifting, non-stigmatizing environment and the kind of mindful presence that contemplative practice inculcates.
