Arloste Foundation is a non-profit, non-racial organization, dedicated to improving the living standards of rural and marginalized communities in Ganze, Kilifi County, Kenya. Ganze, a village along Kenya's coast, is home to people facing severe material deprivation, economic challenges, food insecurity, and limited healthcare. Many children in the area drop out of school to work as beach boys and girls, often becoming involved in prostitution to support their struggling families. The high prevalence of HIV has orphaned many children, forcing older siblings to leave school and care for younger family members.
Recognizing education as a powerful tool for change, the Arloste Foundation was established to combat the devastating effects of illiteracy, such as poor health, unemployment, exploitation, gender inequality, and lack of a voice. The foundation's core mission is to uplift at-risk individuals, including orphans, widows, and victims of gender-based violence, by offering access to education and health support.
To achieve this, the organization has created a free school for children from impoverished backgrounds, ensuring they have the opportunity to learn and grow. Additionally, the foundation addresses health needs by providing nutritional support and essential health information to those affected by HIV and other conditions. Through its various programs, the Arloste Ganze Foundation is building a better future for this vulnerable community, empowering them to overcome poverty and lead healthier, more prosperous lives.
