The Montclair Orchestra

The Montclair Orchestra is the leading developmental orchestral program for students at major conservatories and music schools. Based in Montclair, NJ, The Montclair Orchestra provides side-by-side playing opportunities for aspiring musicians to play with some of the worlds leading orchestral musicians, including members of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and more.

Now in its fifth year, The Montclair Orchestra is preparing to broaden its operations. A planned expansion of the existing conservatory/university Fellowship program, along with a new youth orchestra program planned to begin operation in 2022-23, will form the base for a strong future of growth and impact. With efforts focused on the future of orchestral music, including the influence of a diverse range of music and musicians, The Montclair Orchestra will lead the next generation of orchestral musicians into a relevant future that balances the traditions of orchestral music with new and modern programming concepts that resonate with diverse audiences.
