#ChooseWOMEN/Women's Entrepreneurship Day

Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organization (WEDO) #ChooseWOMEN is a movement that carries throughout the year in support of women in business. The WEDO mission is to empower the 4 billion women across the globe to be catalysts of change, and uplift the 250 million girls living in poverty. WED’s initiative #ChooseWOMEN is a digital campaign to support women owned businesses the first Wednesday after Thanksgiving and demonstrate how vital women are to the global economy.
 
We are currently aiming for #ChooseWOMEN to be known as a world renowned day/brand to support women in Business.  In union with this day we are launching Choosewomen.org to be the go-to business directory for women owned businesses ranging from handbags to skincare. Similar to American Express’ Small Business Saturday and Giving Tuesday, the #ChooseWOMEN campaign will encourage consumers to support women-owned businesses and demonstrate how vital women are to the global economy. With the right Marketing strategy the possibilities are endless! With a variety of days dedicated to a number of causes, one might ask – Why does the world need #ChooseWOMEN and why should I support it? Consider then, that women perform 66% of the world’s work, yet earn 10% of the world’s income. At the same time, they account for 85% of consumer purchases and control $20 trillion in worldwide spending.

We are working to generate a movement that carries throughout the year in support of women in business globally. #ChooseWOMEN/WED ignites women leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs to initiate startups, drive economic expansion, and advance communities worldwide. #ChooseWOMEN is honored to announce our partnership with leading Microfinance organizations around the world that provide women living in poverty with essential microloans to start their own businesses.
