Addis Jemari (AJ) envisions a future where all children and families in Ethiopia are thriving spiritually, socially, educationally, and economically. Our greatest hope is to empower orphans, vulnerable children, and their families to end generational poverty.
AJ is a 501c3 nonprofit organization headquartered in Raleigh, NC with our two programs, AJ Home for once orphaned and vulnerable teenage girls, and our Family Empowerment Program, where we strive to keep families together through sustainable solutions, both take place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
In a country where there are more than 4.5 million orphans, and 80 percent of the population earns less than $3 a day, it is our goal to move those we serve from a place of merely surviving to thriving.
Our solution starts with providing their most basic needs while working toward self-reliance and sustainability. We do this by facilitating education, economic empowerment training, financial literacy courses, discipleship, and income generation opportunities.
Currently, we are serving more than 200 children, mothers, and fathers through our holistic approach. To learn more about Addis Jemari, please visit www.addisjemari.org.
