AVillage...Inc., is a
grassroots nonprofit organization dedicated to developing the South End of
Albany, NY. Its
mission is to improve the quality of life for residents of the South End and
beyond, by reclaiming the neighborhoods, and by encouraging, engaging, and
empowering the communities. AVillage members carry out this mission by meeting
with community members on a regular basis, launching community building events,
and collaborating with community partners. AVillage reclaims vacant lots,
organizes neighborhood clean-ups and Earth Day events, works with neighborhood
youths, and engages in public issue advocacy.
