WSPEC is a non-profit initiative with a mission to educate, inspire, and engage the next generation in STEAM fields. We achieve this by using the development of space elevator technology as a dynamic and exciting platform for an international competition. The Games will feature multiple competitions, all designed to advance technologies that have current, practical applications. While these competitions aim to develop solutions for today's needs, they also serve as a catalyst for advancing the technologies necessary for future space elevator development. Our primary focus is on fostering innovation and problem-solving skills and contributing to the growth of technology, regardless of whether a space elevator is ever realized.

W SPEC is currently in its foundational phase, focused on launching its core engineering challenges through demonstration events. The two active programs are:

• Tether Climber Competition: This competition challenges teams to design, build, and operate robotic climbers capable of ascending a vertical tether while carrying a payload.
• Power Beaming Competition: A newly launched program where participants develop and test systems for wirelessly transmitting power.

Looking ahead, WSPEC intends to expand into a recurring, multi-category global event by introducing new challenge tracks that address other key technologies, such as advanced materials science, tether deployment mechanics, and AI control systems, establishing itself as a leading platform for global innovation.
