ACT Contemporary Theatre

The lifeblood of contemporary theater is new work. As the premier purveyor of contemporary theatre in Seattle, ACT has interpreted hundreds of stories from all over the world but its most powerful contributions to our community are the shows that ACT has created from whole cloth. In the half a century of operations the artists at ACT have produced 47 world premieres that have traveled the globe. These are stories that reflect our contemporary thoughts, attitudes, societal conflicts and what it means to be a human in the modern world.
