Lakewood Preschool Cooperative

Vision

We believe that all children living in Lakewood, Charlotte, North Carolina and the surrounding areas will enter school ready to learn cognitively, emotionally, socially, and physically – and that their families will be prepared to help the children achieve success in school and in life. We believe that the work of the Lakewood Preschool also will strengthen the Lakewood neighborhood and other neighborhoods it serves by strengthening the families that make it their home. There is no better investment a community can make than in the future of its children.

Mission

• To prepare the children for successful entry and sustained achievement in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools;
• To provide a welcoming place where families can receive the resources and opportunities they need to find solutions to their challenges and strengthen their role as their child’s first and best teacher; and
• To establish meaningful partnerships with the Lakewood Community and its families so that working together we can enhance the quality of life for everyone in the community.
