Elijah Cummings Youth Program in Israel

Grounded in the historic intent of strengthening relationships between the African-American and Jewish communities, the Elijah Cummings Youth Program in Israel (ECYP) fosters positive relationships between all ethnic communities in the 7th congressional district. ECYP is a partnership between the Baltimore Jewish Council and Congressman Elijah E. Cummings.

ECYP is a two-year fellowship in which teens learn and develop skills that help them become leaders who promote inter-ethnic, racial and religious understanding. Our fellows have the opportunity to affirm leadership potential and learn the importance of cooperation and civic participation.

Participants reach these goals through three program components:

1, Leadership workshops and diversity seminars in Baltimore.

2. A month-long cross-cultural immersion experience of Israel.

3. Community service and public speaking opportunities.
