Feast Down East

The mission of Feast Down East (FDE) is to create a healthy, accessible local food system, which supports economic growth in Southeastern North Carolina. Our programs help to support farm businesses, distribute local produce, and increase access for all consumers. The organization operates a food hub that supports small family farms by distributing their produce to wholesale buyers in the Wilmington area. FDE helps limited-resource farmers access resources to build and sustain their farm businesses and connects them to markets to sell their products. FDE works to reduce food insecurity in underserved communities by bringing affordable, healthy foods to residents in low-income neighborhoods. We also educate the public on the importance of buying local foods. Our goals include poverty reduction and empowerment of limited-resource farmers and consumers.
