Chain of Hope

It is estimated that as many as 15 million children die or remain severely ill every year through potentially treatable or preventable cardiac diseases. Since 1996, Chain of Hope has been working towards our long-term goal that all children, wherever they are born, have access to quality cardiac care in their own countries.

Chain of Hope runs an International Child Referral Programme, providing vital treatment to children from countries where there is little or no access to cardiac care. We bring children to the UK for surgery and our volunteers help us to support the children and their families’ whist they are here. Volunteers are integral to the smooth running of the UK programme and provide a valuable chain of support for the Child Referral Team.
