Chicago Cares

Chicago Cares has been building stronger communities through volunteerism since 1991. Chicago Cares is the city’s premier nonprofit volunteer service organization. We provide opportunities for individuals and corporations to improve the Chicago community through participation in creative, structured group volunteer programs that address Chicago's most pressing needs, thereby greatly building the capacity of hundreds of agencies and schools across the city.

Chicago Cares strives to address community need while building an informed, productive, and active citizen base. Guided by our program expertise, our volunteers experience firsthand the challenges others face, and as a result, they develop a deep and lasting sense of civic responsibility.

Since 1991, Chicago Cares has:

• Engaged more than 500,000 volunteers in service
• Created more than 25,000 group projects
• Provided 1.5 million hours of community service
