Bird Alliance of Central Indiana

Promoting the Enjoyment and Stewardship of the Birds of Central Indiana.

The mission of Bird Alliance of Central Indiana (formerly known as the Amos Butler Audubon Society) is “To promote the enjoyment and stewardship of birds of Central Indiana”. We do this by:

• Hosting monthly educational meetings with presentations on a wide variety of topics
• Offering field trips throughout the state and beyond
• Monitoring and addressing issues in Central Indiana that involve birds and their habitat, partnering with other organizations to protect and preserve birds and their habitats.

Our chapter of the National Audubon Society (NAS) covers Indianapolis (Marion County) and the surrounding counties of Boone, Hendricks, Hamilton, Hancock, Johnson, Shelby and northern Morgan.

BACI is growing! We’re in the process of expanding our conservation, education, advocacy, and outreach offerings and want to bring the joy of birds to more of the Central Indiana region. If you have time or a talent that’s for the birds, take a peek through our volunteer opportunities below, or fill out our volunteer application to get started.
