Earned Income Tax Credit Initiative

The Boston Earned Income Tax Credit Initiative is a collaborative effort between Mayor Menino's office and the business and nonprofit communities to bring attention to the federal tax credit available to many eligible workers from low-income and moderate-income families. The earned income tax credit provides up to $4,000 to these families but many eligible workers do not know about the program. The EITC Initiative provides assistance in preparing and filing tax returns to workers unfamilar with the process.
