Mentor Connection

Enhancing the quality of life for youth in Oakland County through the creation of supportive mentoring relationships that increase self-esteem, encourage academic achievement and improve social skills in order to help young people lead successful, healthy lives.   At Mentor Connection, we believe that mentors truly are the best proactive approach to improving the lives of at-risk youth in our community.

Becoming a mentor requires a certain level of commitment. A consistent schedule is crucial to the success of the match. If you have the time and the energy, this relationship can be a very satisfying experience!

Mentor Connection matches Oakland County youth, ages 7-17, with supportive adult mentors. Once matched, mentors make a 1 year commitment to meet with their mentee twice a month for 2-4 hours at each meeting. Mentors and youth matches are based on common interests, personality types, and geographic location. Additionally, mentors are matched with a same gender youth.
